FGS Community Incubator Initiative

 FGS Chapters are unique because they are fully student run and resources are found by members and shared among members. Chapter members don't just receive opportunities and resources,  they outsource resources themselves. Most importantly, FGS Chapters' unique framework of specifically supporting under-resourced students enables high school leaders to be self-sufficient and be able to cater to the needs of members of their communities who need the most support.

 The FGS executive team researches and gathers various opportunities for students to apply to or receive including (but not limited to) internships, summer programs, scholarships, relevant events/virtual informational events, jobs, marketing/entrepreneur/social impact resources, and pre-college programs.

Students in FGS Chapters will get to connect with experienced entrepreneurs and other Chapters across the nation to to create a community that shares resources and draws awareness to the experiences of FGLI students. The program will also run in conjunction with Teach for America and Clinton Global Initiative as a crucial strategy to launch small entrepreneurial programs similar to FGS.  

Any high school student with an advisor (teacher or counselor) can establish a chapter at their school. Students do not need to be first-gen, low-income, or an immigrant to app

An FGS representative will reach out to you via email to notify you that you've been selected to start a chapter, along with details regarding onboarding into the FGS organization, how to start your chapter at your school, how to sustainably maintain your chapter, and how to manage various aspects of having a chapter (such as elections, finances, social media, and communication). After your chapter is officially established, FGS Chapters executives will continue to communicate with you and your chapter to ensure that you are supporting the members of your chapter and that you feel supported by FGS.

We are looking for students interested in marketing, entrepreneurship, content creation, and HR, who want to work as 

• National Chapters Director
• Chapters Presidents or 
• Chapters Project Management Team

The initial phase of the initiative is to use a database to keep track of how many chapters have been started and how many chapter presidents started them. 

• The cohorts will also replicate the broader FGS HR framework, including meetings, social activities, etc. 
• FGS directors can monitor each chapter's growth by meeting chapter presidents monthly and receive a report of the number of members, topics presented, and the number of opportunities the chapter presidents have shared. 
• The presidents will also keep track of how many students got into summer programs and won scholarships. 
• At the end of the twelve months, we will track where students got into college and celebrate their successes.
