Recruiting Mentors/Speakers for FGS College Prep-A-Thon

We will host a 5-day hackathon-style virtual conference (from 8/2 to 8/6) for rising 10th to 12th graders to learn and prepare for college.

Who are we looking for?

Are you a current undergraduate student or graduate willing to share your experience, expertise, and support to aspiring first-gen, low-income, immigrant students? We are currently staffing our inaugural Summer Prepara-Thon. You will be able to promote your personal brand and impact hundreds of attendees!

Our Vision

FGS College Prep-A-Thon has an innovative approach to engage students, who are rising sophomores to rising seniors. Not only will we have speakers and mentors from prestigious universities and top of their career fields, but we also implement a hackathon-style challenge. Each grade will have different goals to meet by the end of the four days.

Responsibilities of a Speaker and Panelist


Expectation for Speakers/Panelists

We are looking for a panelist/speaker(s) who is in college or the workforce that have special insights and credible experience. 

Conducting Workshops, Panels, Q&As, Ask Me Anythings

There will be a total of 8-10 workshops and 1-2 speakers assigned per workshop. There will also be 6-8 Panels, Q&As, and Ask Me Anythings, which requires 3-6 panelists per event. 

 Thre will be 4 Keynote Speakers, 1 per day.
